Information on Attending or Watching the Stream of the 2014 State Of Indian Nations

Every year, just after the President of the United States gives the State of the Union address, the President of the National Congress of American Indians gives the State of Indian Nations address. This is where NCAI presents the goals of tribal leaders, opportunities to advance Indian country issues, and policy priorities for the year.
In addition, a member of Congress is invited to give a congressional response. This event is presented live in its entirety and is broadcast via the internet. Following the event there is an interactive question and answer session with the audience, press, and those watching from Indian Country facilitated via social media.
I’ve had the opportunity to attend this event in past years and it is exciting. If you are in Washington DC, you may request free audience tickets here. I urge you to plan on viewing the 2014 State of Indian Nations via the web. You may participate remotely via social media and NCAI asks you to let them know if you plan on having a viewing party. You may connect via social media by Tweeting to @NCAI1944 or tag them on Instagram @NCAI1944. They will be using #SOIN2014 to monitor conversations.
Watch the event live here at 10:30 am EST Thursday, January 30th, 2014.
